Our Menu (Week of March 4, 2012)

My friend stopped by this morning and brought one of my favorite cakes for my birthday–Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Yum!  I’ll be indulging tonight.

I failed to share the easy recipes I promised you last week.  I have no excuse.  I could blame the mountains of magazines I’m trying to purge.  Okay, yea, I’ll blame those.  Instead of just tossing them, I have to go through each magazine and tear out the pages I want to keep.  But I did toss/share/recycle dozens and dozens of them so that’s a plus!  Here’s our menu for the week.

Breakfasts

  • Oatmeal with dried cherries and bananas x 2
  • Cereal with bananas, smoothies x 2
  • Apple cake, berry smoothies
  • Hashbrown casserole, berries, pineapple juice x 2

Lunches

  • Leftovers x 3 plus fruit
  • Burritos, tangerines
  • Veggie wraps, melon
  • Ham and cheese sliders, fruit
  • Pasta salad with caesar dressing

Dinners

  • Cheesy chili mac
  • My birthday dinner–Husband is getting dinner so we can all cozy up at home…my fave:)
  • Mushroom chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans
  • Soup and butter garlic rolls (undecided on the soup, but it will include mushrooms because I have 3,485 in my fridge)
  • Broccoli chicken pasta, veggie tian
  • Homemade chicken nuggets, veggie couscous, cauliflower
  • Leftovers Night

Snacks

  • Fruit: strawberries, blueberries, oranges, melon, and bananas
  • Cranberry-oats bars, pumpkin bars
  • Homemade applesauce, Greek yogurt, cheese, & graham crackers

What’s on your plan for the week?

  1. I bet I know who that Carol aka Baker Extraordinaire is! The one and only! Love her! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Danielle! You are loved by all of us at Preschool!

  2. Oh! Danielle~ I didn’t know that it was your birthday yesterday. Did you have a special plan? I think you had a wonderful day. Because you got a surprise cake in the morning from carol. Wow.. She is so sweet!
    Anyway, Happy birthday late… Danielle!
I always think you are so great and I love all of you! 🙂

  3. Happy birthday, Danielle!
I’m sorry I didn’t get to send you one of my famous homemade cards. Maybe next year?
After licking my lips at the sight of your cake, I laughed when I read that you had to go through each magazine before you could let it go. I am exactly the same way. You never know — there could be the most amazing, life-altering piece of information in that magazine that has collected dust for six months (or more)!
And again, your menu plan inspired me. Inspired me to sit thumbing through a cookbook while watching Smash on tv!
I hope you had a great birthday.

    1. Thank you! Famous homemade cards? Count me in! 🙂 You inspire me! I’m going to scrapbook a page today–Get ready for mediocrity! You made me laugh at loud–I was going through magazines (riiiiiiiiiip) as I watched The Voice which I suddenly got sucked into this year after announcing loudly to my husband I would NEVER watch it–and he said, “You will. You will watch 5 minutes and fall in love.” Ugh. In any case, is Smash good? I keep wondering….How’s Poodle? Maybe, since you’re so crafty, you could knit him a sweater.

I love your comments and read them all.
