I hear it’s National Pi Day. I’m not going to pretend it’s something we celebrate in our house, but I’ll always give a Hurrah and a Hooray to pie of the i-e variety. Here’s a roundup of pies from my blog and my friends in the great big blog world. Maybe you’ll find one that catches your eye and entices your taste buds to make and gobble up soon! Happy Day!
Country Meyer Lemon Pie from yours truly. Creamy, tart, cool, refreshing and easy.
Buttermilk Pie from my dear pal Melissa over at Chindeep. An old Southern favorite that’s comfort in a pie. She has many more pie recipes on her blog so you should go on over and check them out. You won’t regret it.
We need savory pies in our lives, too, don’t we? How about my friend Devi’s Best Turkey Pot Pie which you can find over on her blog Diddles and Dumplings? Mmm, you can’t beat a filling pot pie and Devi knows how to whip up scrumptious food so I’m sure this is awesome.
Here’s another pie-cake hybrid from me that is one of my most popular recipes (it has been pinned thousands of times–wow!): Peaches n’ Cream Cobbler Pie.
Pie doesn’t have to come in the traditional round pie pan. I’m always excited to see what my friend Marlys of This and That-My Love of Cooking and Photography comes up with and her Key Lime Pie Parfaits are perfect for spring or summer dessert.
Inkling is celebrating Pi Day with this Flaky Pie Crust from the Modernist Cuisine at Home cookbook who tested more than 40 crusts to come up with this recipe. It brings together the best of sweet pastry and tart crusts. I’m eager to try this with a summer tomato tart!
Why not fill that crust with delicious looking Sous Vide Vanilla-Cinnamon Pastry Cream (oh. my. word.), also from Modernist Cuisine at Home. I’m pretty sure I would devour this and hesitate to share it with table mates. At least I’m honest?
I know what I’m doing with the blackberries that will be popping up soon. This Gluten-Free Blackberry Raspberry Pie from my talented friend Rachelle of Gluten Free Cooking and Baking Recipes by Rachelle looks scrumptious. I love the mix of berries and that her recipes are gluten-free without lacking flavor. Mmm.
And last, but certainly not least, here’s a gorgeous Frozen Strawberry Pie from the lovely Nancy of NancyCreative. With strawberry season arriving, I’m counting down the days until I get my hands on perfectly ripened, juicy strawberries to create this beauty. There’s not a recipe Nancy posts that I don’t want to devour.
I’ve got some talented friends, don’t I? 🙂 Very inspiring and I’m more than a little envious of their photography skills. Beautiful. Hope you find something you love in this little collection of pies and that you whip something up this weekend to celebrate Pi and Pies! ♥
